The Rose Collection SS20
INSPIRATION
HONG HOA launched its first runway collection on global stage during Paris Fashion Week on September 27, 2019 at the Intercontinental Paris-Le Grand. The collection was presented and produced by the Oxford Fashion Studio, a reputable runway production company based in the United Kingdom.
Part of the Couture by Hong Hoa line, the Spring/Summer 2020 Rose Collection was consisted of completely handmade couture gowns. The Rose Collection is exquisite, elegant and feminine. It is inspired by the traditional Vietnamese garment called áo dài. The áo dài is traditionally worn by both sexes but now most commonly worn by women. The original design consists of a tight-fitting tunic with a high mandarin collar worn over matching trousers. Áo translates as shirt and dài means long. The designs in this collection are characterized by various versions of the áo dài high collar. It takes the concept of the traditional áo dài and transforms it into modern day formal wear. The materials used for this collection are delicate to draw out its femininity. Such materials include lace, tulle, mesh, organza and ruffles.
The Rose Collection is an infusion of the Vietnamese tradition and the Western world modernity, which represents Mrs. Gonzalez’s upbringing as a Vietnamese American who was born in Vietnam but raised in the western society.
